A Concept for an Evaluation Framework for Reconfigurable Systems

چکیده
The design of reconngurable systems is a hard task due to a huge amount of optimization trade-oos and constraints. Deeciencies at the higher level of conceptual decisions may result in critical bottlenecks of the system implementation. This paper explores the design space and performance evaluation criteria of reconngurable systems and introduces a concept for an evaluation framework based on these explorations helping to avoid such deeciencies. 1 Motivation The developments in reconngurable logic over the last decade result in fascinating achievements both in device architecture and software environment. High-density million-gates devices, partially reconngurable logic and multiple-context FPGAs raise new challenges to system developers and researchers. The success of a particular project always depends on the experience and skills of the design team which has to nd a suitable solution driven by optimization trade-oos and design space constraints. This process usually results in the time-consuming development of dedicated simulation and prototyping environments, especially if the design of a novel architecture is considered. A general purpose framework which allows systematical exploration of the design space supported by the performance evaluation steps may reduce the complexity of this problem. The following sections describe the models required to develop such a framework as well as a rst conceptual approach. The modelling of the design space is the most important task while developing a computing system. A suitable model helps to classify the existing approaches and shows niches for novel architectures and paradigms. The analysis of the known classiication schemes like 4-and 3-class-model 1, 2] or RP-space 3] and Olymp taxonomy 4] draws some basic parameters of the design space. A review of the newest logic devices and CCM implementations helps to establish a more

Knowledge Flows Automation and Designing a Knowledge Management Framework for Educational Organizations
One of an important factor in the success of organizations is the efficiency of knowledge flow. The knowledge flow is a comprehensive concept and in recent studies of organizational analysis broadly considered in the areas of strategic management, organizational analysis and economics. In this paper, we consider knowledge flows from an Information Technology (IT) viewpoint. We usually have tw...
متن کاملData envelopment analysis in service quality evaluation: an empirical study
Service quality is often conceptualized as the comparison between service expectations and the actual performance perceptions. It enhances customer satisfaction, decreases customer defection, and promotes customer loyalty. Substantial literature has examined the concept of service quality, its dimensions, and measurement methods. We introduce the perceived service quality index (PSQI) as a sing...
متن کاملImplementation of VlSI Based Image Compression Approach on Reconfigurable Computing System - A Survey
Image data require huge amounts of disk space and large bandwidths for transmission. Hence, imagecompression is necessary to reduce the amount of data required to represent a digital image. Thereforean efficient technique for image compression is highly pushed to demand. Although, lots of compressiontechniques are available, but the technique which is faster, memory efficient and simple, surely...
متن کاملDecentralisation – A Portmanteau Concept That Promises Much but Fails to Deliver?; Comment on “Decentralisation of Health Services in Fiji: A Decision Space Analysis”
Decentralisation has been described as an empty concept that lacks clarity. Yet there is an enduring interest in the process of decentralisation within health systems and public services more generally. Many claims about the benefits of decentralisation are not supported by evidence. It may be useful as an organising framework for analysis of health systems but in this context it lacks conceptu...
متن کاملTowards an Operational Definition of Critical Thinking
This paper offers a state-of-the-art working definition for the concept of Critical Thinking (CT hereafter) in an attempt to provide a framework for the development of an operational definition for this complex concept. Having studied various definitions and models, proposed for CT by major figures in the field, the key defining features of this rich concept were identified and classified. Base...
متن کاملIdeas for Extending the Approach to Evaluating Health in All Policies in South Australia; Comment on “Developing a Framework for a Program Theory-Based Approach to Evaluating Policy Processes and Outcomes: Health in All Policies in South Australia”
Since 2008, the government of South Australia has been using a Health in All Policies (HiAP) approach to achieve their strategic plan (South Australia Strategic Plan of 2004). In this commentary, we summarize some of the strengths and contributions of the innovative evaluation framework that was developed by an embedded team of academic researchers. To inform how the use of HiAP is evaluated mo...
